The game is based on the idea of the Nazi party in Germany during the 1930s. The rest of the players are split into two teams &#8211; liberals and fascists. The liberals are trying to find and vote against Hitler, while the fascists are trying to elect him as their leader.<\/div>\n<p>The game is played in rounds. In each round, players take turns playing one of three possible cards: a role card, an action card, or a sympathy card. Role cards determine which player&#8217;s turn it is (e.g., the fascists will go last if Hitler has played a role card). Action cards allow players to take certain actions, such as moving around on the board or killing another player. Sympathy cards act like action cards, but they only apply when someone plays them at night (when you can play sympathy cards), and their effects last for two rounds.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Advanced_Secret_Hitler_Strategies\"><\/span>Advanced Secret Hitler Strategies<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Now that we&#8217;ve gone over the basics of Secret Hitler, let&#8217;s move on to some more advanced strategies.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Dont_Take_the_Kill_Action\"><\/span>Don&#8217;t Take the Kill Action<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>You should always avoid playing a kill card unless you are 100% sure that it&#8217;s not going to be counteracted by another player (and even then, don&#8217;t do it if you can help it). If you are killed, you can&#8217;t win the game. The easiest way to stay alive is by not playing any role cards. This can be done by playing action cards and sympathy cards that make it look like someone else are trying to take over the game. For example, you could play a role card that gives you more votes than Hitler, or a sympathy card that makes it look like someone is trying to kill another player.
